This report describes the student's progress this term in our work together. Lessons follow an evidence-based, structured approach to literacy instruction — one that addresses each student's specific learning profile through explicit, sequential teaching. Skills build deliberately from foundational sounds and patterns through to vocabulary, comprehension, and written expression, with each lesson tailored to where the student is in this progression. Progress is monitored continuously, and the content of lessons is adjusted based on what the student is showing us week to week. The overall aim is steady, durable growth across the core areas of reading, spelling, and writing.

Reading Fluency Measures

Reading fluency is the ability to read text with appropriate speed and accuracy. Fluent readers also read with good expression. Fluency is now understood to be a unique and fundamental component of skilled, proficient reading because of its close link to comprehension and motivation (Hasbrouck, 2008). The table below details the student’s scores in reading rate (WCPM: word count per minute) and accuracy based on standardized testing provided through Easy CBM.
